Fenwick Island

Fenwick Island is the sleepiest of all the Delaware Ocean Beaches, and yet it runs into Ocean City, Maryland which is quite action-packed during the summer.   Fenwick is perfect for those looking for a quiet, laid back destination.  Fenwick is also a dog-friendly town and the beaches are really never that crowded.   There are a few great restaurants in town and some very nice shopping destinations as well.  This would be a great place to visit if looking for a peaceful getaway or a quiet place to retire.  The town is not year-round active, which isn't for everyone yet perfect for others.  There are some really beautiful bayfront communities including one with a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course.

 

The lifestyle in Fenwick allows time for things that the hustle of the city may not.  Laying out on a lonely beach with a book, taking over a section of sand for a game of volleyball, these are activities that sound perfect for Fenwick Island while the action of Ocean City is right next door.
